Orson Welles didn’t make that many technical innovations, really. What he did was successfully combine earlier innovations in a dramatic and interesting fashion. His use of wide angle lenses and the like was not NEW, but he made it his own through the way he utilised it.
Austin Powers was kind of like a mix-match between American and British humour, and I think sometimes the transition between the slightly outrageous American jokes and then more quiet British-style jokes doesn’t work that well and jarrs the film.
There’s a band called Lounge Against The Machine that does a bunch of metal and rock songs in crooner style. You can find him on the eyeTyoones. (Not that you’ll read this in any case!)
Sorry, the ARTIST is named Richard Cheese and the ALBUM is named Lounge Against The Machine.
Pity.
